Intro to SplitFees
The split-fee feature introduces the possibility to have a designated payer account (or payerAddress) pay the gateway fees for the transactions of another account. If the payer does not have sufficient balance, users can’t access the Gateway for sending transactions or querying state.
There are two approaches to Split-fees:
- As a user
- As a payer
A plus to paying for your user's transactions is users will not need to have the minimum 1 AVT required to interact with the Gateway.

If the balance of the payer account falls below 1AVT, it'll be classed as inactive and users would be treated as though they had no registered payer account.
